Crest Hill Cop On A Rooftop Event Contributes Great Amount To Special Olympics

Crest Hill's Finest continued their annual Cop on a Rooftop tradition on Friday, May 17. Several Crest Hill police officers volunteered to take donations at the local Dunkin' Donuts near the Plainfield Road and Larkin Avenue intersection. Chief Ed Clark set up a merchandise area inside Dunkin' as patrons paid for t-shirts and coffee mugs with all proceeds going to Special Olympics of Illinois.

"It's a great cause," said Chief Clark. "We are honored to be a part of it and give to the Special Olympics." The Crest Hill Police Department raised nearly $3,000 that will go directly to SOILL.

2019 marks the 12th year in a row that hundreds of law enforcement from throughout the state will stake out Dunkin' Donuts rooftops to benefit the Special Olympics of Illinois. Last year's tally collective statewide tally was $310,000 and the goal is to beat that this year. More than $1.6 milliion has been raised from this event over the last 11 years.
