Gaylord Water Tower

Water tower image 2

The City of Crest Hill Water/Wastewater Department will be undertaking the large task of painting the water tower on Gaylord Road.

The first part of the project will be the construction of a temporary cell phone tower on the property at Gaylord and Waterford. The temporary tower will need to be constructed in order to have the cell phone carriers who currently have equipment on the water tower move their property off. After the tower is constructed there will be roughly 2 weeks of work involving the actual moving of the cell phone equipment to the temporary tower.

Once all of the cell companies are off of the water tower then a tent will be constructed around the tower in order to keep construction debris off surrounding properties.

This project is slated to last a majority of the second half of this year.

* On 9/16/2020 - Public Works will begin draining the water tower on Waterford so the crews can begin the interior work on the tower. With the draining of the tower some residents may experience a brief discoloration of water due to the change of the natural direction of water in the pipes. This discoloration should clear up rather quickly. Sand blasting should begin within the next 2 weeks, if there are any questions or concerns please call the Public Works Dept. at 815-741-5108
